This is a jello fruit salad that has been in my family for a very long time. This one is a little more desert like than your typical jello fruit salad.
Ingredients
- 1 small lemon jello
- 1 large cream cheese
- 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained (save pineapple juice)
- 1c chopped pecans
- 1/2c chopped maraschino cherries
- 1/2 pint whipping cream, whipped
Directions
Heat the pineapple juice almost to a simmer and then dissolve the jello. Allow the liquid to cool. Slowly blend in the other ingredients. Pour into your preferred dish or jello mold and refrigerate. For an added kick, marinate the maraschino cherries in Disaronno Amaretto for a few days in advance.
