This is a traditional pound cake from Grandma Shepherd that is very easy to make and probably one of the easiest cake recipes to remember.
Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 4 eggs
- 3t baking powder
- 1t salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2t vanilla extract
Directions
- Let the margarine warm up to room temperature and then beat with a mixer until creamy
- Add the sugar and eggs one at a time to the margarine
- Add the flour, baking powder, & salt and continue mixing
- Add the milk and vanilla and mix until the ingredients are completely blended
- Grease and flour a bunt pan, pour cake batter into the pan
- Bake for about 1 1/4 hours at 350 degrees F
- Allow to cool and then remove from bunt pan
